SPECIAL SURFACE TREATMENTS
For high-performance operations, finishes or surface treatments have been developed to reduce running-in time, prevent corrosion, resist yarn abrasion and reduce heat build-up on the ring. Carter Traveler Company offers several finishes or surface treatments for horizontal ring travelers:

Standard - (Polished Finish)

Conventional rings must go through a "running-in" process, creating a smooth pattern for the traveler to run.  Standard, polished travelers are highly recommended for this break-in process as it will improve the overall running conditions and the life of the rings.

Supreme
This electrolytically plated nickel finish has a long record of excellent performance on 100% cotton, cotton blends and some synthetic fibers. Supreme is recommended for traveler speeds over 27 M/second.

Finish
(Patented) One of Carter's newest finishes - developed for today's high-speed spinning. Crown ™ Finish's low coefficient of friction allows spinning at very high speeds with reduced end breakage and less yarn hairiness.

Miracle
(chemically deposited nickel alloy). The nickel finishes permit higher speeds with better running characteristics, rapid heat dispersion and longer traveler life in cotton spinning. The treated travelers also are highly recommended for synthetic spinning, using flange type rings.

Jet™ Finish
Carter's newest finish. Developed especially to work with Carter's S-2000 Rings.  Also used with excellent results on rings with other types of finish.  Jet offers improved traveler life, yarn hairiness, and reduces ends down.
