A.B. Carter, Inc.'s research and development department is consistently striving to improve and develop new surface treatments to extend traveler and ring life, increase spindle speeds, resist yarn abrasion and reduce heat build-up on the ring.

We have developed and offer the following finishes for our rings:

 

S-2000
The patented S-2000 finish is Carter's most recent development in maximum performance finishes for high speed spinning. This hard surface finish was designed to offer longer service life of the ring while enhancing the traveler performance even in the most demanding spinning conditions.  The S-2000 rings have proven time and time again to offer consistent yarn quality in regards to reducing yarn hairiness and are fast becoming the "ring of choice" of major spinning plants around the world.

Our S-2000 rings require virtually no break-in as a result of the highly polished surface finish.  Normal break-in consist of one traveler change with no reduction in speed.

 
Crown
The Crown finish can be applied to any type of steel horizontal ring. This finish revolutionized the traditional ring break-in cycle by minimizing the running-in time, thus reducing traveler usage and labor costs.
 
Metro
The Metro/Black Oxide finish can be applied to any type of steel horizontal ring.  This finish is generally used in spinning applications where speeds are less than 36m/sec.  Normal running-in procedure is required for break-in.
